As Hong Kong’s largest sports photography platform, Sportsoho has been dedicated to promoting sports photography. Its photography group, "Spot the Sports," has gathered over 10,000 photography enthusiasts! This year, the sports photography competition at the SPORTFEST Hong Kong will expand in scale to allow public participation.
How to Participate:
- Participants must upload their entries to a designated sportfesthk.com/shootaction from June 15, 2025 to July 23, 2025.
- The submission deadline is July 23, 2025, at 11:59 PM (event time). Late submissions will not be accepted.
- A confirmation email will be sent to successful entrants.
Photo Categories:
Photos should be centered on sports themes, including portraits, action shots, and close-ups.
- Portraits: Behavior, close-ups, personality, etc.
- Action: Athlete movements.
- Close-ups: Various subjects related to competitions and sports venues, including audience reactions and atmosphere.
Shooting Period:
Photos must be taken on or after January 1, 2024.
Submission Period:
From June 15, 2025 to July 23, 2025
Voting Period for "My Favorite Sports Photo Award":
July 24 – Aug 10, 2025.
*All photos must be uploaded on or after July 24th and invite Instagram page @sportsoho_shootaction as the collaborator. Any posts uploaded prematurely will not be accepted.

- If under 18, parental/guardian consent is required, and they must have read and understood the competition’s terms and conditions.
- Organizers, judges, andtheir relatives may not participate to ensure fairness.

#ShootAction Grand Prize:
Selected by a panel of professional judges: one champion, one 1st runner-up, one 2nd runner-up place, and three merit awards. Winners will receive: Champion: Sony A7C II compact full-frame camera (valued at HK$16,490).

- 1st Runner-up: HK$3,000 Sony Store Online voucher.
- 2nd Runner-up: HK$1,000 Sony Store Online voucher.
- Merit Award: HK$500 Sony Store Online voucher.
*All winners will also receive a commemorative gift.
My Favorite Sports Photo Award:
Participants upload one of their #ShootAction Grand Prize entries to Instagram as a collaboration post with @sportsoho_shootaction.
The post must include the hashtag #SportsohoShootAction.
The three photos with the most public likes will each win a HK$500 Sony Store Online voucher and a commemorative gift.
Sony Gallery Special Award:
Sony Hong Kong will select ten photos shot by Sony camera for display at the SPORTFEST Hong Kong 2025 Sony’s Gallery.
Each winner will receive a HK$500 Sony Store Online voucher.

Judging Criteria:
Entries will be evaluated on creativity, technique, and content.
Winners will be notified via email, with results announced on Aug 19, 2025.
Competition Rules:
- Each participant may submit up to ten photos for the "#ShootAction Grand Prize".
For the "My Favorite Sports Photo Award," only one photo per Instagram post is allowed—if multiple photos are uploaded, only the first will count.
All photos taken with Sony cameras will automatically be considered for the "Sony Gallery Special Award." - Submitted entries cannot be modified after submission.
- Each participant can only win one prize per category—the highest-ranked prize takes precedence.
- Entries may be in black-and-white or color.
- Cropping is allowed, but adding or removing objects is not.
- Basic digital adjustments (e.g. color temperature, exposure, contrast, sharpness, saturation) are permitted, but special effects such as solarization, mezzotint, duotone, motion blur, and HDR are prohibited.
- Multiple exposures are allowed but must be in-camera, not digitally composited. Winning photos must provide original files or film negatives.
- Images must be at least 5 MP, 5–10 MB, with a 3:2 aspect ratio, in JPEG format. Film-based submissions must be scanned.
- File names must match the image title (e.g., "ILoveFootball.jpg").
- EXIF metadata must be retained. Winning entries may require submission of original files (JPEG, RAW, TIFF, or film negatives).
- Late submissions will not be accepted.
- Judges’ decisions are final.
Terms and Conditions:
*Submitting an entry signifies agreement to all competition terms and conditions, including copyright and usage rights.
- By submitting an entry, participants confirm that their work does not violate any laws in their place of residence. The organizers and sponsors are not responsible for any legal violations by participants.
- Entries deemed to be digitally composited by the judging panel will be disqualified.
- Submitted works must be original photographs taken by the participants, who must hold full copyright. Any disputes regarding copyright or image rights are the sole responsibility of the participant and not the organizers or co-organizers. Participants guarantee that their submission does not infringe any legal rights.
- Entries must not contain illegal, obscene, defamatory, threatening, harassing, or offensive content, nor promote criminal activities or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, or other factors.
- Organizers reserve the right to request identity verification from winners before awarding prizes.
- All entries may be used for online exhibitions, physical displays, and publications. The organizers retain permanent usage rights, and submitted works will not be returned. By submitting their work, participants grant the organizers and sponsors an irrevocable, global, permanent, and royalty-free license to modify, use, reproduce, exhibit, and publish their work in promotional materials without prior consent or compensation.
- The organizers reserve the right to interpret and amend the competition rules and have final authority over all decisions, including judging results and prize distribution. Complaints or appeals will not be entertained.
- Participation is voluntary, and all entrants agree to abide by the organizers’ decisions. Participants consent to their names being used by the organizers without compensation.
- The organizers are not responsible for any damage or loss of photos during the submission or usage period. Refusal to grant usage rights may result in disqualification.
- The organizers reserve the right to modify prize allocations. Prizes will be awarded per competition rules and cannot be transferred, exchanged, or redeemed for cash.
- By submitting an entry, participants agree that the organizers bear no liability for claims related to the competition or prizes. Prizes are provided by third parties, and the organizers are not responsible for external factors affecting their availability.
- The organizers are not liable for errors in participant information or technical malfunctions such as network failures, printing errors, or unauthorized tampering. If the competition is disrupted due to factors beyond the organizers’ control, they may cancel or modify the competition.
- The organizers reserve the right to reject any entries without explanation.
- If a participant is found to have violated any terms, the organizers may terminate their eligibility at any stage without further justification.
- Participants agree to indemnify the organizers and affiliated companies against any claims, losses, or liabilities arising from violations of the terms.
- In case of disputes, the organizers’ decisions are final.
- The competition is governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and any disputes will be subject to Hong Kong courts.
